The Northeast Comprehensive Center’s (NCC) Regional Innovations in Learning team will be presenting at the 2014 New York State Computers and Technology in Education (NYSCATE) Conference on Innovative Online College and Career Exploration. During this presentation, NCC will introduce the CareerZone Informational Video Series and how stakeholders can support students in their use of New York State CareerZone.
NYS CareerZone is an innovative online career exploration and planning system designed especially for today’s high-tech youth in New York State (NYS). NCC in partnership with the New York State Education Department, and the NYS Department of Labor has developed seven three to five minute videos to engage educators, students, parent/guardians, and school counselors on how to use the website’s tools and resources to prepare students for college and career opportunities.
Robin Banks, a teacher from Alfred E. Smith Career and Technical Education High School will co-present with NCC to provide information on how she uses CareerZone with her students.
The presentation will end with information related to how participants can continue to build their capacity in their use of NYS CareerZone, thus constantly ensuring all students have access to information to prepare them to be successful in college and in their careers.
