The Regional Innovations in Learning Team presented at the first Rhode Island Department of Education’s Adult Education program awardee meeting with the technology point people (TPP) of RI in October. The TPPs were introduced to the Virtual Learning Program (VLP) Rubric in order to get a sense of how the Rubric was developed and which goals it addresses. The RIL Team conducted a preliminary needs assessment survey to determine next steps in utilizing the VLP Rubric for this population. The next 3 meetings will specifically address Standard 3.7, which focuses on personalized learning in a virtual learning environment. To view the first presentation, click here.
The next 3 meetings will follow in January, March, and May of 2015. Between each session, the TPPs will have an opportunity to self-assess their learning through the online assessment journal. The RIL Team will use Google Sites as the online platform to support this professional learning community. This community will support the TPP’s needs, help address challenges, and celebrate successes, while offering the chance to collaborate with staff from RIDE and NCC and with one another.
