The Northeast Comprehensive Center (NCC) worked with the New York State Education Department (NYSED) Office of Early Learning to develop a series of materials to assist teachers, coaches, instructional specialists and administrators to implement New York State’s Prekindergarten Foundation for the Common Core (PreK Foundation). The materials are designed to translate research and provide an opportunity for those working with young children to reflect on instructional practices and for administrators and teacher teams to reflect on school-wide practices that support quality instruction. There are four completed resource sets that are aligned with the key domains of learning in the PreK Foundation:
Each resource set includes materials and tools that are designed for teachers, coaches, specialists, and administrators and descriptive information about how they might be used at the local level. The sets also include a school-wide reflection worksheet designed for school leaders and teacher teams to reflect on the systems and supports that promote each domain. The sets are available for school administrators and teachers to download, adapt to their site, and use as working documents.
