Year 6 Project Overview: New York Supporting Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Practices
New York State is committed to helping all students be prepared for success in college, career, and citizenship. Educational technology can play an important role in the effort to provide culturally and linguistically responsive instruction for all students. The Office of Educational Design & Technology (ED&T) at the New York State Education Department (NYSED) seeks to foster best practices in culturally and linguistically responsive instruction by building digital resources, instructional models, strategic planning documents, and stakeholder engagement resources to help districts utilize technology to support culturally- and linguistically-responsive learning environments.
NCC will support in them in the curation of these materials and resources and with developing dissemination strategies. NCC will also facilitate discussions between the state and experts in the field, organize webinars with expert panels, and support the development of the webpage(s) used to share the information. With NCC’s assistance, NYSED ED&T will have a resource bank of research-based best practices, resources, and materials to support using educational technology to support culturally and linguistically responsive instruction; and an effective dissemination plan to share the resources found.
