The Northeast Comprehensive Center worked with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s (MA ESE) Office of English Language Acquisition and Academic Achievement (OELAAA) to implement the Next Generation ESL Project: Model Curriculum Units (ESL MCUs). The project included participation of over 30 districts across the state, as well as collaborations and consultations with local and national curriculum experts.

Resources developed include ESL Model Curriculum Units and videos of 8 units in action, as well as a Collaboration Tool and accompanying Interactive Guide designed to help educators operationalize WIDA Standards in conjunction with the State Curriculum Frameworks to support ESL curriculum development.
